Start with the decision
Identify polymer, form, print, adhesive, laminate, liner and contamination. State whether the load contains unused media, applied graphics removed from a surface or another stream. These are different descriptions for a receiver.
Build the record
Record quantities and units, presentation, location permissions and availability. Ask the fabricator for missing construction information. Keep the liner separate where its composition and route differ from the applied face.
Check before acting
Request current acceptance, preparation, minimum quantity, costs, destination and outcome documentation. Packaging design guidance can inform a question but does not establish signage-film acceptance. Directory presence is only discovery.
Worked example — illustrative
A fictional printer has clean liner offcuts and used adhesive films. The coordinator records separate batches and asks a receiver about each. Acceptance for one batch does not automatically extend to the other, and collection is not counted as recycling without the corresponding outcome evidence.
Keep a useful handover
Record the responsible person, decision date and next review trigger with the evidence version. Keep planned actions distinguishable from confirmed activity. If later information changes the result, preserve the earlier record and update current guidance.
- Identify form and polymer.
- List attached layers.
- Separate different streams.
- Ask for current conditions.
- Track receipt and treatment.
