Lesson 01
Describe the load
Identify assembly, quantity and contamination.
Make a material description that a receiving organisation can evaluate. Include ink, backing, coatings, adhesive and fixings.
Separate useful retained equipment from waste and record both quantities with units.
Read the practical guidePractice task: Describe a fictional ten-panel return batch and mark unknown construction details.
Lesson 02
Check the parties
Use the jurisdiction-specific requirements.
Identify the transfer and receiving parties and check the applicable official guidance. Keep the source and check date.
A register entry or a directory listing does not establish acceptance of the actual described load.
Read the practical guidePractice task: List the identity, authority and scope checks to obtain before dispatch.
Lesson 03
Record acceptance and movement
Keep evidence at each stage.
Record a dated acceptance response, agreed preparation and collection conditions. Create an identity for each batch or split movement.
Use separate fields for dispatched and received quantities, with measurement basis and discrepancy notes.
Read the practical guidePractice task: Create a six-state batch record from enquiry to treatment confirmation.
Lesson 04
Report the actual result
Publish what is confirmed.
Distinguish collected, received, reused and treatment-confirmed material. Record rejection and unknown outcomes.
A supported collection statement can remain useful while the treatment result is still pending.
Read the practical guidePractice task: Write a short outcome statement for a batch whose collection is confirmed but treatment is not.
