Work through the decision

Present the shared function, boundary, method, source versions and scenario inputs. Separate complete results from partial subtotals or readiness gaps. Keep material quantity, cost, durability, repair and recovery dimensions distinct. Explain the chosen rationale and who confirmed suitability; the selected option need not be lowest on every dimension.

A fictional worked example

A fictional option has a lower entered programme cost but no confirmed local recovery route. The learner states the monetary result and the route gap separately. The explanation does not label the cheaper option environmentally best.

Evidence and authority limit

A Pareto view or cost total does not create missing data or a universal environmental ranking.

Put it into practice

Write a comparison explanation containing one supported result, one trade-off and two unknowns.

Keep this record: A transparent comparison narrative with source/method context and next actions.

  • Complete and partial outputs are separate.
  • Trade-offs and suitability responsibility remain visible.
  • Unknowns prevent unsupported superiority wording.
