Work through the decision
Identify the record, field, source revision and specific disputed wording. Supply the proposed correction with exact variant, unit, date and scope. Preserve conflicting documents and state what remains unresolved. Link the accepted correction to affected current guides, comparisons, claims and derivatives without silently changing historic accepted project snapshots.
A fictional worked example
In a fictional contribution, a manufacturer changes a documented thickness after a revision. The learner records the new value and revision date, flags future specs and keeps earlier accepted projects linked to their original record.
Evidence and authority limit
A contributor request does not automatically resolve a scientific dispute or authorise overwriting accepted history.
Put it into practice
Prepare a correction packet with old and proposed values plus two affected current outputs.
Keep this record: A source-linked correction, reasoned review state and dependency list.
- The disputed field and version are precise.
- Proposed data has applicable support.
- Historical attribution and counter-evidence are preserved.
