Work through the decision
Identify substrate, ink, coating, adhesive, laminate, fixing, reinforcement and frame. Record exact variant, quantity, contamination, condition and location. A family name helps discovery but does not show what a receiver will accept. Unknown layers become specific composition questions, and removable parts may require distinct next-use or treatment records.
A fictional worked example
A fictional banner has a textile base, printed finish and attached edge hardware. The learner records all three rather than searching only for textile recycling. The receiver can now assess the actual proposed load.
Evidence and authority limit
Theoretical recyclability of a base material does not establish a route for the finished assembly.
Put it into practice
Build a complete load description for an assembly with one unknown adhesive.
Keep this record: A composition and quantity record with unresolved identification questions.
- Applied layers and fixings are included.
- Quantity and location are stated.
- Unknown composition remains unresolved.
