Work through the decision
Describe the entire unavailable window, including inspection, packing, transport, use and returned-condition review. Check overlapping accepted bookings for the same physical asset. Keep calendar availability separate from technical compatibility and condition. A public draft planner can reveal a conflict, but only the shared reservation authority can lock the actual asset.
A fictional worked example
A fictional frame is needed at two events on adjacent days. The second booking starts while the first event’s return inspection is still scheduled. The planner asks for another asset or changes the window rather than pretending the dates are conflict-free.
Evidence and authority limit
A local date calculation or submitted request does not create a confirmed inventory reservation.
Put it into practice
Prepare two booking windows and identify an overlap caused by transport or inspection time.
Keep this record: A scoped reservation request with whole-window dates, readiness requirements and alternatives.
- The whole unavailable period is included.
- The physical asset is identified.
- Acceptance is separate from a planning request.
